The Birthwork Institute™ requires completion of lactation training as a prerequisite for CLSS™ certification.
Training programs listed below have been reviewed and determined to align with the CLSS™ Standards of Practice and required competency domains. Alignment does not constitute endorsement, sponsorship, or partnership.
Prospective candidates may complete any training program that demonstrates equivalent coverage of required competencies. Certification requirements are identical regardless of training provider.
Bridge: Advanced Lactation Training
Bridge is a lactation training that empowers doulas, birthworkers and other perinatal professionals to support lactation and pumping confidently, while staying within scope and collaborating with other care professionals. Students will gain the skills to support clients through a variety of infant feeding scenarios and the most common feeding challenges, while staying in scope. Students will know exactly how to support lactation and pumping and when to refer out.
